Yes, we bill Medicare and Medicaid for services. Medicare does not cover hearing aids, and Medicaid often does not for adults.
No.
Health insurance companies often delegate their hearing benefits/discounts to a "Third Party Administrator", or, TPA.
TPAs often restrict the choices available to your audiologist, for example by excluding device brands or by refusing to cover certain exams that are important to understanding your overall hearing health.
Our goal is to give you the best personalized care available.Â
Please call us to discuss our pricing, our affordable care plan, or a referral to another clinic if this will stop you from seeking care. There are non-mobile clinics in the Mid-Ohio Valley who accept third party benefits, if you prefer.
If you'd like to learn more, you can read the American Academy of Audiology's letter to the federal government, where they describe supplemental hearing benefits as:
offering "little to no transparency"
"constrain[ing] the professional judgement of the audiologist"
"may not be in the best interest of the consumer"
"certain TPA contracts...prohibit participating providers from even discussing devices or technologies or services that are not covered"
